Hello CIX-ATL members, To accommodate the continuing growth of the exchange, we brought online a second switch yesterday afternoon at Equinix AT1. It appears that, while doing so, we encountered what is likely a bug which affected reachability for members connected at that site for a few minutes. To further diagnose the issue and ensure that there is no ongoing risk to IX operations, we'll be performing emergency maintenance tonight, Tuesday morning, at 12:01am for about an hour. Depending on the results of the testing, we may proceed with the switch OS upgrades previously planned for next week, so members may see their ports drop during the work. As usual, we will block BGP traffic across the exchange, so that routing fails gracefully, and will remove the block after maintenance is complete. No action is required on your part.
