Hello Community IX Members,
I’m pleased to announce that we just received the results from Simply Voting, the company we outsourced our 2024 election to.
Before I announce the results, I’d to recognize our existing Board of Directors, who have tirelessly volunteered their time in supporting our organization. Additionally, I’d to recognize two members of our outgoing Board of Directors who helped found the organization and have been invaluable to its success.
David Temkin, who formed our initial Board, encouraged his then employer, Netflix, to provide initial funding as well as the donation of hardware to create FL-IX. David also served as our Chairman of the Board of Directors for the first seven years, and then served as our Treasurer for the last few years. Thank you, Dave. We would not exist today without your vision and commitment to Community IX.
Ryan Woolley, who has Chaired our Technical Committee from the beginning and provided his invaluable technical expertise, and further stepped up as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the last three years. His organizational and management skills have been essential in growing our organization to where it is today.
Both David and Ryan had decided not to run for reelection and allow others to lead the organization moving forward.
I’d also like to thank the nine individuals that put their names forward and declared their candidacy for this election cycle. Although we only had five seats open, all nine of the candidates were highly qualified and I hope those that weren’t elected this cycle consider other opportunities to serve our organization in the future.

Additionally, I will remain as an Ex Officio Member of the Board of Directors.
Officer and Committee appointments will follow at our next Special Board of Directors Meeting.
